1.  What if we don't want a Rich Fruit Cake?
While the traditional rich cake is still very popular, couples now are mixing a fruit cake tier with other types, for example Chocolate cake, Lomon Maderia Cake, Carrot Cake, Coffee Cake and of course the chocoholic's delight - Chocolate Biscuit Cake.

2.   What size cake will we need?
When deciding what size cake you will need  the things to take into consideration are
   * the number of guests
   * Do you intent to give cake to absent friends and relations
   * are you going to be really traditional and keep the top tier for the christening?
  I will help you decide the size of cake you will need when I have the above information.


3.  How soon do we need to order?

Peak times for Weddings is  April to October and these are the dates that book up first.  If you are lucky enough to have a Bank Holiday dates in that time - I would advise booking at least six months in advance.   The other very popular dates are  for Christmas and New Year weddings.


4.  Can we hold the date?

Of course I can hold a date for you for up to 10 days without a booking deposit.  Remember, you don't have to decide on a cake style when you put down a deposit - it's just to ensure that I am free to make your cake on that date.  


5.  What if my Mum wants to make the cake, can you decorate it?
Weddings are a family affair and if Mum or Dad or Auntie Mary makes a beautiful fruit cake, but lacks the skill or confidence to decorate your cake, I would be delighted to quote for icing and decorating it for you.

I can also provide additional tiers and decorate the complete cake for you.


6.  What about the top of the cake?
I can offer beautifully handcrafted sugar flowers, designed to match your colour scheme.  I also make sugar bride and groom figures, dressed traditionally, or with a twist (football jersey perhaps).  Or how about some cute hand-made bears in wedding outfits?
I never put fresh flowers on top of my cakes, as I can not guarantee them to be chemical and pesticide free.


7. Price
As there are so many factors affecting the price - number of tiers,  flavours,  size of cakes,  the style and amount of detail in the cake,  it is difficult to give a price immediately, but if you would like to make an appointment,  I'll gladly discuss all options, and together we'll get the perfect cake to suit you and  your budget.

8.  Do you deliver

Yes,  I offer a delivery service for Wedding Cakes.  Unfortunately I have to charge  a small fee for this service. 

Delivery to Tinakilly House and The Grand Hotel, Wicklow Town is free.
